Abstract

Fiqh or Islamic law is one of the main disciplines in Islamic studies that functions to regulate human behavior based on sharia values. Along with the development of time and the increasing complexity of social issues, the study of fiqh requires systematic and methodological research approaches. This article aims to examine models of Islamic legal research developed by Harun Nasution, Noel J. Coulson, and Muhammad Atho Mudzhar. This study employs library research with a descriptive analytical approach. The findings indicate that Islamic legal research can be conducted through historical, sociological, and contextual methods. These approaches enable Islamic law to be understood not only normatively but also as a dynamic legal system that adapts to social change. Therefore, mastery of Islamic legal research models is essential for the development of contemporary Islamic studies.
